Day 1:
Located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh National Park is well known for being home to a relatively high population of Royal Bengal tigers. Before being declared as a national park in the year 1968, this region served as a game reserve for Maharaja of Rewa. Covering a huge area of about 400 sq km, the region has been divided into three major zones – Bamera, Magdi and Tala. Of all the three zones, the last one is being most popular among visitors as it supports the highest density of tigers.
Soon after your arrival in Bandhavgarh, check-in at the jungle resort and ease yourself. After relaxing for some time, you can step out for nature walk in the park. You can spend your day in wildlife photography, witnessing the rich biodiversity and sighting the nearby temple, fort and natural cascades.
The rugged terrains, steep ridges and vibrant meadows of this national park serve as a natural habitat to a large number of wild denizens. Rich in natural vegetation, this region is home to about 22 species of mammals and around 250 species of avifauna. Some of the dominant wild species of this park are Asiatic jackal, spotted deer, sloth bear, leopard, sambar deer, striped hyena, chinkara and nilgai.
